let me be real with you, its far less draining the battery of the switch if you just watch and delegate a stream :) . Who knows of you guys how hard it is to port a ps2 era game to x86 & ARM. So they just spent less thats why there is no kingdom hearts for your mobilephone. Those are running ARM by the way, your computer does x86 and all the consoles are running x86. In form of a customized AMD APU configuration.

2 years ago I got all of the Kingdom Hearts games on my Switch for my birthday because I know that Kingdom Hearts is a really lovable franchise, also never in my life even thought that there will be any glitching and stuttering, and for some reason not knowing the difference between downloaded and something being streamed! After playing it and looking at the reviews for the game on the Switch, I highly regretted getting it on the Switch! There's still part of me wanting to play the First Kingdom Hearts game where don't have to worry about the glitching and stuttering and have some fun in the game, but at the same time, I feel like I still need to finish the First Kingdom Hearts game as my punishment from my parents wasting their $89.99 to getting me all of the DogShit Kingdom Hearts Cloud Ass series on the Switch!

Late to this video but it'll definitely happen post KH4. Didn't happen with KH3 because how pressed for time it was, also not room to introduce new characters and ideas when it would happen during the new arc/saga of Kingdom hearts.

kingdom hearts needs a full reboot, it need to get rid of sora and come back to the origins of the serie which is : it's just the basic story of kids escaping their boring world and finding incredible, and goofy stuff out there, classic isekai plot, but more variety no need to have disney in it, what makes kh is the variety of environments and casts of characters we interact with, imo getting rid of disney could allow square to actually bring some more serious and interesting stuff, they will never do it, but they need to. or they should actually make 2 different series, one with disney, and one ip without talking about more dark and serious stuff, but trying to fit everything in one bag makes the two feel incoherent

Well Nomura aculy lets his staff trow in ideas aswell. However the idea of him not having total controll of KH is bad. KH is in all purposes his Brainchild. He has a ending for it in mind. He isnt the only Writer aswell. Kh 4 adds a Female Writer to the team. He alsomentioned how to him Melody of Memory wasnt the Kairi game. The thing is that its like a Manga series to him..that was the case since KH 1 Mayby after the Series ending he will step down a bit under the cobdition that Sora and the rest get left behind Ther is also a reason we get Mobile games. Ther Populer in Japan. So they make them. Kh 3 beeing " Unfinished" as you say was also kinda the point as it isnt the End of Sora's Story. Well, nowadays, with the Switch hacking scene being advanced enough to a point of able to put Linux on the Switch (switchroot Linux), after flash Hekate, one can potentially put the Epic Store version of KH games on the Switch this way (after legally buying it on EGS), but it requires a lot of hacking and with a chance of nothing working at all. There are guides online in all points of this process, from flashing Hekate, to installing Linux on Switch, to getting WINE working, and finally, getting KH games working under WINE. But then there is another simpler but more expansive way to do this, buying a GPD Win device, or Steam Deck. Steam Deck is still a Linux machine so still might not work but with much less process and trouble to set up, and GPD Win is...well, the most no-brainer way of all of these, because to put it simply, while it is very expansive, it is just a 3DS sized Windows PC with the latest AMD Ryzen processor, and it has enough power to run most PC games as it is with the iGPU from the AMD CPU, in medium to low graphic settings. Their latest device is the GPD WIn Mini, 8840U CPU, 120hz VRR screen, built-in keyboard, and built in hall effect joysticks, pretty much a perfect device for portable gaming (and emulation including Switch).

He creates Artificial Heartless by using Purebloods as a catalyst for creating them. Which then led to the Replica experiments and trying to learn how to create your on Human Being and control them as well. They function the exact same as Pure Heartless except you don't need to steal more Hearts to create them. It's an interesting way to have a large cluster of enemies without anyone actually needing to fall to Darkness to create them. Most of those Heartless never had a human form. Which helps explains why Ansem doesn't need to be constantly plunging worlds to refill his ranks. Then you actually glossed over one of the most interesting enemy types Angel Stars because they're an artificial Heartless that then creates more Heartless all on its own. Meaning you don't even need to steal Hearts. You just need one Heartless and can endlessly proliferate them. Making stamping them out extremely difficult. Can even be seen as why they Respawn. This is further showcased in gameplay with Neo-Shadows. They start in a huge group and you have to kill them one by one. But if the last one takes too long he summons more Heartless. Showcasing yet again the various methods to summon Heartless.

I'm glad to see someone at least look at the time period for what it was. Yeah we don't like sexists and racists. Yeah they were a lot more common or at least a lot more outspoken back in this games time period. It is just what it is. I'd rather see the historical reality of it than have it all padded and act like it didn't happen at all.

Square Enix is kind of ghetto they are going the Bethesda / Disney route. Remake, reboot, remake, reboot. Final Fantasy 7 in specific is the reason the Kingdom Hearts story hasn't been completed by now.

I think having hi fidelity graphics CAN sell a game, but often it's not enough on its own. What's more crucial and important is the games identity and art style. Persona 5 has wowed people because of its menus -- MENUS! Imagine if half the big budget games that came out these days put the same amount of time and resource into their UI design. That would be pretty spectacular

I feel KH can't have a good meaningful spin off. They rely too much on game to game connections which limits their ability to function. Chain of memories was nice, but you could just ignore it because the entire plot point was lack of memories. Re Coded was just forgotten completely compared to everything else which feels weird. Birth By Sleep came too late for it to work from a narrative point without hijacking the story. Days was just filler explaining most of what we already knew. Melodies also doing the same explaining most of what we already knew. There are others, but I'm leaving those out because narrative wise they just hijack the BBS story to go even further back. It is trying to be an epic starwars or lord of the rings saga, but for a game this comes with consequences as you spend nearly 10-20x the length of a movie with the character. We become who we play, and in the mainline locking us to Sora has consequences just like how in FF15 you are Noctis and none of what happens to your team really matters and happens fine off screen. KH needs to take a step back and look at what it is, not try to be what it isn't.

I got into KH from DDD :) I had no context whatsoever, I just saw Neku on the back cover. I think DDD is the optimal starting point actually (Joking).

As someone who's been here from the start and basically just enjoyed the prospect of a world where the devs might actually concentrate ona new start, I was actually quite looking forward to fewer Kingdom Hearts games and spin-offs until I sw this video. Because you know, you ARE right- in a world where games that take half a decade to come out is the norm we DO need more reminders that a beloved franchise exists and is alive that aren't just mobile gacha games, but will those games even be made? SquareEnix's new boss even outright said that they're aiming to concentrate their resources and develop fewer but higher quality games. The smaller, self-contained "jumping on"-point games are a dying breed. But... does that also matter in a world where the kids just ant V-Bucks for Fortnite anyway? Is that money better spent on basically paying Epic to make Kingdom Hearts-models and let people play it that way? I am old and lost in this modern market and the modern consumer- what do the children of today want? I don't know. I don't even know what Disney are gonna do in the next five years or what they're gonna let SquareEnix play with. I guess I hope that after Kingdom Hearts 4 drops and is a slihgtly easier game to get in on, we'll see if it turns out that Nomura has actually farmed out development to a bunch of side-houses, and get the brand out in other ways. Keyblade Warriors? An April's Fools visual novel?A charming 2D platformer? The sky is the limit!

To your point about action based mobile games, you almost perfectly described Monster Hunter Now. Though you're 100% right about it absolutely chewing through battery life, that game is doing gangbusters in Asia right now. There's a good chance Missing-Link's design could actually take off the same way.

I think the issue is a bigger reflection on how KH story was laid our. Spin-off and side games are fine but how inaccessible some are that have heavily important story information is an issue. Melody of mastery, all the “fremium” mobile games from Unchained Key to Dark Road. Most people won’t play a new game until KH4 drops and there’s a story and a half of plot floating around you need before that.
